A 26-year-old man who was enjoying the day on a frozen Michigan lake died after his snowmobile fell through the ice, according to authorities.

Ellsworth says the 26-year-old Wixom resident had been riding his snowmobile on Wolverine Lake when it broke through the ice and into an area of open water.
As he sank deeper into the frigid waters, multiple witnesses at the scene called 911 and later reported that they had lost sight of him, the Oakland County Sheriff s Office confirms.

COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A man riding a snowmobile on a frozen Oakland County lake died Sunday afternoon when his vehicle crashed through the ice.
According to authorities, the 26-year-old from Wixom was under the water for an hour before being removed by the Oakland County Dive Team.
It happened of Delmonte Street on Wolverine Lake in Commerce Township.
A fire chief told Local 4 the snowmobile went under at about 12:30 p.m. The man onboard began to sink deeper and deeper under the water while people nearby started to call 911.

PONTIAC, Mich. – A 30-year-old man taken into custody on an unrelated warrant is accused of being involved in a fatal shooting at a Metro Detroit Coney Island restaurant.
According to authorities, just before 10 a.m. Jan. 13, Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to D’Anton’s Coney Island, located on West Huron Street, between Telegraph Road and Woodward Avenue, on reports of a dead body.

Police said a friend of the dead man reported that he and the victim’s family were unable to find him, searched the area and found his body in a vehicle near the Coney Island restaurant. Authorities located the victim where he was pronounced deceased.
