New details: Body found with neck wound on side of road in Greenville, deputies say

A man's body was found Wednesday morning along a road in Greenville, according to the Greenville County Sheriff's Office. Deputies said they got a 911 call about 5 a.m. about a body. The man's name has not been released. There was a crash reported at the same.

The coroner was called around 8 a.m. to South Washington Avenue.  The man was found with injuries to his neck near the intersection of South Washington Avenue and South Florida Avenue, according to an emailed release from the Sheriff s Office. Greenville remembers law enforcement officers who died in line of duty

Greenville County Sheriff Hobart Lewis said when he was officially sworn into office he studied and learned from those who came before him to prepare himself for the inevitable. Conley Jumper was tragically killed in line of duty is that no matter how much I try to prepare myself from moments like this, it was impossible to fully grasp the difficulties of losing a brother in blue, Lewis said.

A Greenville woman dies after exiting a moving vehicle on Sunday

View Comments A Greenville woman died after getting out of a moving vehicle Sunday afternoon on Roper Mountain Road and Snipes Road. Richelle Latrese Wright, 45, died just after 3 p.m. at a Greenville hospital, according to the Greenville County Coroner s Office. Deputies from Greenville County Sheriff s Office were called after 2 p.m. about a disturbance in a truck. The caller said that a woman got out of the truck for a period of the time before re-entering and the vehicle left the area.  Deputies did not find the truck after the initial call. But another call came in from a man who said that his wife got out of a moving vehicle following an altercation, according to the Sheriff s Office.
