Vaccine being made available to pregnant women by MUH at Breaffy Vaccination Centre Published: Tuesday, 25 May 2021 14:10 The Maternity Unit at Mayo University Hospital is arranging for women who are between 14 and 36 weeks’ gestation to get their COVID-19 vaccine at the Mayo Vaccination Centre in Breaffy Resort. Women who have antenatal appointments will have an opportunity to discuss the COVID-19 vaccine with their midwife or doctor. Afterwards their contact details will be passed on to the vaccination centre to arrange an appointment, should they decide to proceed with vaccination. This also applies to women who have appointments at the outreach clinics in Claremorris, Ballina and Castlebar.

Mayo Chair of the VFI is confident July 1st will see resumption of indoor services in all pubs Indoor trading for publicans appears to be on track to resume by Thursday, July 1 st, according to the Mayo Chairman of the Vintners Federation of Ireland, Alan Gielty. The Achill based publican is hopeful that pubs can fully reopen serving food and drink, or drink only, in time for the traditional start of the summer tourist season. However, he says that while publicans welcome the reopening of pubs for outdoor trading only on 7 th June, (two weeks time),  for the vast majority of its rural members running an outdoor-only business is not sustainable.
