Eleven Awardees of €3 million Equality Fund Announced including one project in Galway
Eleven civil-society groups throughout Ireland have been awarded grants through the Equality fund.
The groups’ projects advance equality for LGBTI+ communities, migrants, people with intellectual disabilities, Travellers, sex workers, women survivors of addiction and domestic sexual violence, and organisations that combat racism and hate in Ireland.
Rethink Ireland have also announced a record expansion of The Equality Fund in Ireland from €3 million to €10 million over 5 years.
The funding comes from The Peter Kinney and Lisa Sandquist Foundation and is being matched by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth via the Dormant Accounts Fund.

The government says it has hundreds of experts working to rebuild HSE systems and find those responsible for the cyber attack on its network.
The Taoiseach last night told his parliamentary party it s crucial that access to radiology, diagnostics and therapeutics is restored.
Hospitals are priortising emergency cases, and patients in need of non-urgent care are being told to expect long delays.
Meanwhile it s reported hackers have already begun sharing people s private and sensitive information online.

Late last year, Mayo County Council was announced by Chambers Ireland as the Local Authority of the Year. The accolade which was awarded under the Chambers Ireland Excellence in Local Government Awards also confirmed Mayo County Council winners in three further categories
