Cathaoirleach of MCC says the blame game does nothing in the face of a pandemic
The blame game does nothing in the face of the Covid 19 pandemic.
That s according to the Cathaoirleach of Mayo County Council Independent councillor Richard Finn.
He was speaking at the start of today s monthly meeting of Mayo County Council.
He said things have improved since the February meeting of the authority, with the rollout of vaccines, he believes, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
He appealed to everyone to support the government, NPHET, and our healthcare workers in the battle against the spread of the virus.

One week on from the announcement that Bank of Ireland is to close three branches in Co Mayo, Deputy Rose-Conway Walsh and her Sinn Fein colleague Councillor Gerry Murray are hosting an online public meeting this evening, calling for the Bank of Ireland branches to remain open in Ballyhaunis, Charlestown and Kiltimagh.
Deputy Conway-Walsh says keeping these branches open is crucial for the local communities, and she believes the Bank of Ireland- which was bailed out by the Irish people - should not be closing local branches during a pandemic.

A Co Roscommon woman who stole € 20,000 from her company s sports and social club and spent the money on luxury holidays and shopping trips has been jailed for six months.
Nicola Henry, of Carrownegh, Kiltoom, Co Roscommon, forged her colleagues signatures to make out 37 cheques in her own name.
At the time of the offending, from April 2014 to September 2015, Ms Henry was an office manager at Johnson & Johnson.
She was also secretary of the employee Social Club at the Tallaght-based company.
During that time, she received just over € 17k from 27 forged cheques. She spent the money on luxury holidays to Australia, Sri Lanka and Dubai.
