Facebook Share Authorities have released the name of a man killed in a Tuesday shooting near Center Point. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Jermaine James Kidd. He was 24 and lived in Fultondale. The shooting happened shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday at Summit Ridge apartments on Haversham Circle in the Center Point area. Jefferson County sheriff’s Sgt. Joni Money said deputies had been called to the location earlier in the day - about 1:30 p.m. - on a report of a male who had gone there and threatened and assaulted a female resident.

Facebook Share Chaos erupted at an east Birmingham apartment complex following a deadly shooting in the parking lot. Birmingham’s 911 center received a call at 8:45 a.m. reporting that someone had been shot. Sgt. Rod Mauldin said there were also reports of gunfire in the area. The shooting happened in the 2900 block of Gallant Drive at Monarch Ridge Apartments, formerly Valley Brook Apartments. When officers arrived at the complex, they found a vehicle that had come to a rest after striking multiple vehicles in the parking lot. Mauldin said when officers looked into the vehicle, they found the victim dead from a gunshot wound.

Fultondale man shot and killed in east Jefferson County

From The Tribune staff reports BIRMINGHAM The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified a man shot and killed in east Jefferson County on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. Jermaine James Kidd, 24, of Fultondale, was pronounced dead on the scene in the 700 block of Haversham Circle. The location is in unincorporated Jefferson County, near the city limits of Birmingham, Center Point and Pinson. Deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office were first called to the location, around 1:30 p.m., in regards to a woman who said she was threatened and assaulted by a man. The man had already left the scene. As deputies were searching for him, they received a second call, around 3 p.m., stating the man had been come back to the location and was shot by another man on the scene.

Teen killed on Warrior-Trafford Road Monday night

WARRIOR – A Sylacauga teen died Monday night in a single-vehicle crash in Warrior. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Isaiah Dylan Foster Guess. He was 18. According to a report from Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates, Guess was a passenger in a vehicle that lost control and struck at tree while attempting to pass another vehicle in the 400 block of Warrior-Trafford Road in Warrior. Authorities believe the accident took place at 6:20 p.m. Monday. Guess was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:38 p.m. The cause and circumstances surrounding the crash are being investigated by the Warrior Police Department.

Collis McCaster, 48, died Sunday at William Donaldson Correctional Facility. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said McCaster was found unresponsive in his private cell by correctional officers. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 8:45 a.m. Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said no foul play is suspected in McCaster’s death.
