Apr 22, 2021 An Akron man reported at 11:05 a.m. Tuesday he was assaulted by a man named Christopher, who he had been hired as a Lyft driver by the man’s grandmother to transport to East Liverpool City Hospital for alcohol rehab. He did not know the man’s last name and he reportedly ran into Hull’s Market after the assault. Deputies went into the store and found a man matching the description inside the beer cooler. The man, identified as Christopher Lunsford of Massillon, was escorted out of the store. Lunsford had become irate when he was denied smoking or vaping in the Lyft vehicle. He then struck the driver in the head several times and ran from the vehicle at the intersection of state Routes 9 and 172. Two witnesses also submitted statements to deputies. Lunsford, 26, was charged with assault.
SALEM Police and firefighters were called at 7:52 a.m. Monday to the parking lot of Southeast School on Merle Road where a vehicle was on fire. An employee was using a fire extinguisher on a Buick sedan. Firefighters used tank water to extinguish the rest of the fire, which was in the engine compartment. The vehicle was towed. There were no injuries.

Apr 13, 2021 LISBON In county Municipal Court, An April 19 preliminary hearing and pretrial was set for Michael S. Smith, 39, McCracken Road, Salem, charged with domestic violence and resisting arrest. On Friday, Smith allegedly threatened his live-in girlfriend, Grace Roessler, telling her he was going to beat her to death, slit her throat and burn the house down. Then when deputies arrived, Smith allegedly was holding a butane torch and kicked deputies attempting to take him into custody.
Amberlina N. Gentsy, 26, Monaca, Pa., was bound over to the grand jury on charges of felonious assault, failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, OVI first offense, left of center and marked lanes. Gentsy is accused of going left of center, nearly striking other drivers head-on and nearly going off the road, while fleeing from officers on April 3. She then allegedly struck the back of a deputy’s cruiser when it slowed in front of her at the intersection of state Route 1
