More Covid-19 Vaccine centres open in Kent and Medway

The location of all the NHS Vaccine centres in Kent and Medway have been revealed by the NHS.
The second and third phases of vaccine rollouts in the county are underway as immunisation is stepped up across the UK.

The NHS is hoping to vaccinate at least one million adults in the county using a minimum of 42 Primary Care Networks (PCNs).
A PCN is a group of GP surgeries working together to provide vaccinations for a large area from one location.
The three new sites are the Sturminster Newton Medical Centre, The Digby Hall and the Whitecliff Surgery. Sites have been developed by primary care networks (groups of local GP practices) who have worked together to develop detailed plans to deliver Covid-19 vaccinations in their wider community locations. Primary care networks have been working round the clock to rapidly to redesign their sites and put in place safe processes to deliver vaccines. Dr Simone Yule, a GP and Clinical Director for the Blackmore Vale partnership, said “I am delighted and relieved that we can start the new year with such good news for people in north Dorset and am delighted that we can begin to offer those who are most at risk their vaccination to protect against Covid-19.

It has emerged that 70 patients have so far missed their scheduled appointment for a Covid vaccine at just one Kent surgery.
The Primary Care Network at Harrietsham at the Len Valley surgery in Church Road is processing vaccinations on behalf of the Bearsted Medical Practice, the Len Valley Practice, Headcorn Surgery, Sutton Valence Surgery and the Orchard Surgery in Langley.

The next wave of locations for Primary Care Network vaccination sites have been confirmed for north Essex. They will go live from next week and will vaccinated people according to the current priority schedule which includes health and care staff, and elderly vulnerable people aged 80 or over. Constable Country Medical Centre, in East Bergholt, is the latest place locally to be confirmed as one of the vaccination sites. The Fryatt Hospital, in Dovercourt, will also be running as a vaccine centre from Monday. Vaccine centres which are already up and running in north Essex are in Clacton and Colchester. Lisa Nobes, director of nursing at the Suffolk and North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Groups, said: “We are aligned with the government’s ambition to vaccinate as many people from those high priority groups as possible over the coming weeks.
