JACKSON, Miss. (WLOX) - The Mississippi State Department of Health reported a total of 362 new COVID-19 cases and three new deaths reported Thursday in the state.
For the six southernmost counties, there were a total of 43 new cases and no new deaths reported as of 3 p.m. the day before.
The new cases were in Harrison County (35), Jackson County (4), Stone County (2), Hancock County (1), and Pearl River County (1). No new cases were reported in George County.
COVID vaccines available to 12-15-year-olds at pharmacies

Area pharmacies have started providing COVID-19 vaccinations for children ages 12-15, although the Mississippi State Department of Health has yet to make the vaccine available to people in that age group.
This week, national pharmacies Walgreens and CVS, along with Kroger pharmacies, announced the vaccinations for those in the 12-15 age group will be provided at its locations in the state.
Liz Sharlot, a spokesperson for the Mississippi State Department of Health, said Wednesday that vaccinations for children ages 12-15 were not available at MSDH vaccination sites “at this time” but pointed out that MSDH has scheduled a press conference for this afternoon, at which time any updates about the department’s vaccination program will be announced.
The state health officer said about one-third of Mississippians have been vaccinated. The Mississippi State Department of Health reports 1,780,904 doses have been administered in the state. According to a New York Times database Thursday, at least 848 new coronavirus deaths and 35,538 new cases were reported in the U.S. on Wednesday. Over the past week, there has been an average of 36,805 cases per day, a decrease of 30% from the average two weeks earlier.
The health department on Thursday reported 29 outbreaks at Mississippi nursing homes. The update for the number of cases of the coronavirus and coronavirus-related deaths in long-term care facilities has been delayed as the data is under review, according to a message on the Mississippi State Department of Health s website.

JACKSON, Miss. (WDAM) - The Mississippi State Department of Health reports the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state has risen to over 314,500.
MSDH reported 362 COVID-19 cases and three additional deaths on Thursday, bringing the state total to 314,509 cases and 7,247 deaths.
Positive test results may have been made during the past several days and represent individuals who became ill a week ago or more.
