The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM) is confirming that two bodies were found off of Oakland Beach on Tuesday.
About Incident
According to DEM, a sailboat took on water and sunk.
Two victims (a male and a female) were recovered and were unresponsive.
The victims were recovered by the Marine Task Force boats and brought into the Oakland Beach Boat Ramp.
The vessel has sunken and the case is under investigation.
DEM is not releasing any additional information at this time.

A man and woman died Tuesday evening after a sailboat they were on sank off the coast of Rhode Island, news outlets reported.
Police officers at the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management and a marine task force responded to the sailboat sinking in Greenwich Bay off Warwick around 4:15 to 4:30 p.m., a department spokesperson told The Boston Globe.
First responders pulled the man and woman from the water. The two individuals, both of whom were unresponsive, were then brought to shore at the Oakland Beach Boat Ramp, said Gail Mastrati, assistant to the director of DEM, according to the Globe.
