Aldi Outlines US Expansion Plans For 2021

11th February 2021
Aldi US has revealed that it will open more stores, add another regional headquarters, and roll-out extra curbside pickup facilities during 2021.
The German discounter plans to add 100 stores this year, with a focus on Arizona, Florida, California and the Northeast. During 2020 Aldi opened nearly 100 stores, which included its entry into its 37th state (Arizona), taking its total estate to over 2,000 sites.
The company is also building another regional headquarters and distribution centre in Loxley, Alabama, that will support its expansion throughout the Gulf Coast region. The 564,000 sq. ft. facility is Aldi’s sixth distribution centre in the southern US and will be equipped to service up to 100 stores in Alabama, Southern Georgia, Mississippi, the Florida Panhandle, and Louisiana, which will be the 38th state where it operates. The site is scheduled to open next year.
