View Comments Arizona Democrats scored a huge victory on Wednesday when they stopped a bill requiring that voters provide proof when returning their early ballot. Democrats defeated Senate Bill 1713 on a 31-29 vote. The bill would have required voters to provide their date of birth and an acceptable ID, such as an Arizona driver’s license, voter registration number or Tribal ID. An important word of caution, though. “Remember nothing is ever completely dead until #SineDie,” Democratic Rep. Raquel Terán said on Twitter about the fact that lawmakers can revive legislation until they actually end the session. “But #1713 has less of a chance today.”
