The world number one has not lost on the surface since Rome in 2019, winning the French Open title that year and the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart last month. She has won 17 of her last 18 matches, with the only defeat coming on green clay in Charleston against Paula Badosa. But the Spaniard was second best on home soil on Thursday, with Barty triumphing 6-4 6-3.
