Avoid big Super Bowl parties this weekend, doctors say Kansas City is competing in the Super Bowl on Sunday in Florida, but it’s not a good time for the traditional parties and gatherings, according to doctors at the University of Kansas Health System. Dr. Dana Hawkinson, medical director of infection prevention and control, said it’s going to be very important to wear masks, socially distance, stay home when sick, not meet in large groups and don’t go beyond your bubble. If people invite others from their workplace, and if someone at the party has the COVID-19 infection, it could rule out three to four people from the same workplace from going to work, he said. It’s important not to do that in the future, and not to increase your bubble, he said.
