In the fourth edition of the Bay Area Reporter's monthly online chats celebrating the 50th anniversary of the publication, veteran writers John F. Karr and Cornelius Washington will discuss the history of sexuality in the publication. The chat takes place Thursday, August 5, at 6pm PT, on the B.A.R.'s Facebook page and YouTube channel. The event is free, and will later be archived. See the links below. From porn reviews to escort ads and strip club features, the Bay Area Reporter has never been shy about sharing information on sexuality. Among the topics of discussion are the hedonistic days of the 1970s, safe sex through the AIDS pandemic, and the rise and fall of the notorious escort ads in the newspaper. Arts & Nightlife Editor Jim Provenzano moderates.
