The Morrison government and Labor have united in condemning Nationals Senator Matt Canavan’s calls for the AstraZeneca vaccine rollout to be suspended following concerns seen in Europe.
Portugal has become the latest EU nation to pause the rollout - joining Spain, Italy, France, Germany and others over concerns the jab may have caused blood clots in some recipients.
“I don’t see how we could continue when basically the whole of Europe is worried about this particular vaccine,” Mr Canavan said.
However, Treasurer Josh Frydenberg said there had been no causal link discovered between the vaccine and blood clots and the Australian rollout would continue to go ahead.
