It has been a difficult year for stock exchanges globally, and not just due to the coronavirus pandemic that swept the world in 2020 and disrupted companies in all sectors. Several major trading venues suffered huge outages throughout the year, leaving investors unable to do business. Among them is the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), Germany’s Deutsche Börse, the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE), Mexico’s Bolsa Mexicana de Valores, the New Zealand Exchange (NZX), and arguably the most severely impacted markets operator, Euronext.
