Waiting is just not their style. When COVID-19 upended life in North Texas more than a year ago, many in the nonprofit world knew they had to quickly change how they fulfilled their missions. They also had to create new ones to rise to the challenges of the moment. Whether it was creating a path for entrepreneurs, finding a way to help furloughed hospitality workers while feeding the hungry or organizing the resources to help the Latino community, these North Texans shifted gears for good.
