Lot of talk around the Chinese Communist Party’s 100 birthday seems to revolve around celebrating China lifting 800million out of poverty, which sounds impressive, but is it? Sure, China have managed to pull approximately 750m-850m of its own citizens out of living on $1.90 a day, that’s impressive b-u-t when you consider that a vast number of those living in poverty were due to the CCPs own ideological self-mutilations, it’s a tad twee to boast lifting the masses out of a poverty you caused. You can’t set fire to your own house, wait for the embers to go cold and then declare you are proudly house fire free.
