Solar and wind generation to further grow on nation's carbon neutrality call Solar and wind power generation in China is expected to continue increasing over the next five years and eventually account 16.5 percent of the country's total power consumption by 2025, the National Energy Administration said in a draft plan on Monday. According to the administration, solar and wind power generation will account for 11 percent of the country's total power consumption this year, up from 9.7 percent in 2020, as the country aims to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, while boosting the share of non-fossil fuels in primary energy consumption to around 25 percent by 2030.
