Commentary: GOP holds back state and itself on census

On Monday, the Census Bureau announced preliminary 2020 census results. Texas’ population grew by almost 4 million people from 2010 — more than any other state. This means increased political clout on the national stage and billions of additional federal dollars flowing our way. While welcome news, Republicans prevented the state, and themselves, from faring even better.
