This article explains where and how to get the vaccine, who is eligible, and also has the latest numbers for how many people in the state have been vaccinated. The Florida Department of Health has put together a website that allows people to find the nearest vaccine site to them. Some major retailers in Florida are offering the vaccine. Number of Floridians vaccinatedFEMA vaccine sites A FEMA vaccine site is open in Orlando at Valencia College’s west campus off Kirkman Road. The mass vaccination sites are a partnership between the federal and state governments.The sites is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. according to the state. One-hundred-thirty-nine soldiers traveled to Orlando from Fort Campbell in Kentucky to help at the site, the Pentagon said on Wednesday. According to the U.S. Army, they will be able to vaccinate up to 3,000 people a day.FEMA said that every Floridian who meets the state’s criteria can get a shot at their site. According to FEMA, people can preregister by visiting myvaccine.fl.gov or calling their county’s designated phone number. Orange County: The Florida Department of Health in Orange County is distributing the COVID-19 vaccine to qualified individuals at the Orange County Convention Center.Residents can make an appointment by visiting the CDR HealthPRO system here. Volusia County: For information on COVID-19 vaccinations in Volusia County – including dates, times, locations and how to register, click here. Marion County: To request vaccination by the health department, click here. A message reading "technical difficulties" may appear if no vaccines are available. If you do not have computer access, you can call the Marion County COVID-19 hotline at 352-644-2590 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and staff will submit the form online for you.Osceola County: Request a vaccination appointment by clicking this link. Do not use this link to request a second dose appointment. A message reading “Sorry, something went wrong” will display when appointments are no longer available.Those who are waiting to get their second vaccination in Osceola County will be called by staff for their follow-up appointment. Lake County: Text COVIDUPDATE to 888777 to receive the latest emergency updates regarding COVID-19 and Lake County immunization site information.Sumter County: Sumter County officials are asking people to sign up online for vaccine appointments.County officials said they are currently not accepting registration by phone, in person, or via email - it is online only.Polk CountyThe Florida Department of Health Polk County's COVID-19 vaccine registration portal is now open for reservations for those 65 years old and older, who wish to be inoculated once vaccine becomes available.Click here to access the portalThrough the portal, you can create an account and upload your personal information for a future appointment.Advent HealthAdventHealth has launched the first phase of its community COVID-19 vaccine program, which will provide Central Florida seniors and health care workers access to the vaccine. AdventHealth plans to vaccinate several thousand people, or as much as supply allows, at its launch site adjacent to Orlando International Airport.AdventHealth Medical Group patients will receive an email invitation to schedule an appointment.
