Cubs who made team's only 3 hits of game By JohnW53 on Feb 18, 2021, 5:10am CST + All were singles -- and all were by the same batter, Orlando Arcia. That night, I examined each previous 3-hit shutout by a Cubs pitcher in search of any previous times that one player made each of the hits. It had happened only once before, in 1964, when Joe Christopher of the Mets had two singles, then a double, off Larry Jackson as the Cubs won at New York, 2-0. ... Recently, I came across a game in June of 1910 in which a lone Cub made all 3 of the team's hits. I decided to search for other such games during the Modern Era.
