Black History Month is an opportunity for us all to reflect on and celebrate the innumerable contributions of Black Americans to our history and culture. The month also reminds us how much work we have ahead to create an equitable, just, and anti-racist society. This work is urgent, critical, and cannot be overstated. The past year has continued to expose the brutality of systemic racism, but it has also united many voices in protest against the injustice and inequality that Black people have suffered for so long. Together, we will continue to listen to each other, learn from each other, and celebrate the incredible contributions from Black people from all over the world.
