Carrillo says they received a distress call from a rancher using a satellite phone on June 21st. The rancher said he had found two migrants in the desert of Texas on Chispa Road in Jeff Davis County. Raul, 35, and his son Christian, 15, both from Ecuador, were crossing the border from Mexico to the U.S. when they got lost after their smuggler abandoned them.
