the new detail here is the severity of their symptoms. it's important to realize that we don't know exactly what they were sick with. the intelligence community don't know that either. this is just another data point that they're use ing to raise me questions about whether there's evidence that perhaps needs to be investigated further that there was something going on at the lab that sickened these resea researchers and, of course, the lab leak theory is one thast intelligence community has not entirely ruled out yet but the intelligence just isn't there. i think this is a new detail about how severe their symptoms were that's going to add to the broader picture about what we know about the origins. >> this is significant. >> yeah, it is. and i think what we've been looking at for a long time is whether wha does the world know and what does the u.s. intelligence community know? and the bottom line here is that the underlying data hasn't been provided to the world by china. and so that's been a problem with the world health organization's investigation into this matter. that's been a problem with what the u.s. intelligence community is able to connect.
