and also they are using improvised explosive devices so they can put them in, you know large areas. so this is -- al qaeda never really focussed on getting individuals to carry out attacks here in the u.s. there were some self-starters and some lone wolves but isis is actually directly communicating with people in this country urging them urging them to carry out attacks. when i say directly communicate, some of the direct communications. others just, like directives that they put over the internet and they're being followed. >> but what makes this so frustrating and this is what i'm wondering as well how do we stay one step ahead particularly when we're hearing on the internet they are communicating in so-called dark zones where our folks are not able to get to those sites and cut through those encryption codes so much what is taking place on our end, we may be a step behind.
