andrea. i'm confident in the other issues, one you mentioned, abortion question can be worked out. >> senator, if you put on a different hat right now, if you were back in the house of representatives and an endangered house democrat would you trust the senate to come along and even vote the fixes by reconciliation and take that top vote that nancy pelosi is pleading with them to take? >> that's really a tough question. getting house members to trust the senate has been an historic issue since the founding of the republic. >> exactly. >> what's the old line here? one republican senior member said to a junior member, we need to deal with the enemy. he said, no, house democrats are the adversary. the enemy is the senate. so i'm confident we can have the votes, if we need them, the 51 votes, assurance that we'll move on reconciliation. let me quickly say to you, andrea, i'm not a great advocate of the reconciliation process. i wish we were not having to go that route but i honestly believe that the health care debate and issues involved in it trump process questions.
