it's kind of dark. let's get a check of the weather from nbc meteorologist bill karins. >> some river called the potomac. >> the potomac and 14th street bridge and the other one that i couldn't quite make out. >> you don't need to know that stuff. >> no, i don't. >> just work on the sports names for the next segment. >> don't give it away, bill. you'll want to see this. >> the drama. good morning, everyone. we are watching some nasty weather this morning in the northern plains, minneapolis all the way down to areas just outside of omaha, around sioux city. this is going to sweep through iowa and along interstate 35 this morning. really the only big trouble spot we have out there. we're doing better in many other areas. a few showers this morning up around virginia beach and norfolk into elizabeth city area. right in the border of north carolina and virginia. and that's about the worst of it. forecastwise today, strong thunderstorms, minneapolis. will move towards central wisconsin during the late evening. iowa through central and northern missouri. those are the areas of concern. otherwise, it's a pretty quiet
