have been worse. everybody digging in and helping each other all up and down the streets throughout the communities. >> it could be worse in florida. the johnson space center in houston was relatively unscathed by harvey. the kennedy space center is along the east coast of florida and could face irma's wrath. how do you think they're preparing? there are some sensitive equipment there. >> bob cabana, the base commander there, the senator director, has been through a number of these. he's got an incredible team in place. they're battening down the hatches and they'll be prepared to go through this. the big thing is to protect the infrastructure, the launchpads and the facilities, and i'm certain that they're well ahead in getting that done. >> let's talk about the role that nasa plays in predicting these kinds of natural disasters. one thing that makes it so much better than it was 100 years ago is nasa uses its technology to really help on day to day stuff. a lot of people think of nasa as space, and removed from all of the stuff we do, but a lot of this is nasa technology.
