MPNnow CANANDAIGUA -- As the saying goes, if it’s not one thing, it’s another -- and it’s enough to make you want to drink. Back in January 2019, Nate Crane and Paul Newhook, former Canandaigua volunteer firefighters and friends, got the ball rolling on the purchase of the former Peacemaker Brewing site on Pleasant Street for their Square Knot Brewing Co. So far, so good. Square Knot, by the way, is a symbol in freemasonry, of which both are members. The knot also is symbolic in that Newhook, who is a career firefighter in the Albany area, is a member of a rope rescue team.
