Tyler, a 6-foot-7, 335-pound lineman, did not play in his two years with the Longhorns. He played a season at Iowa Western Community College before moving to Texas prior to the 2019 season. Tyler redshirted that season and opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19. Tyler joins transfer Jakob Bradford on SU’s offensive line, which struggled last season and ranked 113 out of 127 FBS teams, according to Pro Football Focus. Tyler will play under O-line coach Mike Schmidt, who recently moved to Syracuse after eight years at San Diego State.
