View Comments Greg Hardesty, one of the Indianapolis area’s preeminent chefs, died Tuesday after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was best known for his acclaimed restaurant Recess, which closed in 2017, and training many of Indianapolis' best chefs. His wife, Susan Korte Hardesty announced the death on Wednesday morning in a post to the “We Love You Greg” Facebook group that had been set up to chronicle his treatment. He died at their home Tuesday evening, she said. “Greg was so strong and left nothing on the table,” she said in the post. “We are grateful his struggle has ended.”
