Six reporting teams /em a href "https://goldsmithawards.org/announcing-the-2021-goldsmith-prize-finalists-and-career-award-winner/" em were chosen as finalists for the 2021 prize /em /a em , which carries a $10,000 award for finalists and $25,000 for the winner. /em The Journalist’s Resource em is interviewing many of the finalists to offer a behind-the-scenes look at the processes, tools and legwork it takes to create an important piece of investigative journalism. The entry discussed here, “Mauled,” was a collaboration involving AL.com /em , The Marshall Project, The Indianapolis Star em and the /em em Invisible Institute. /em The Journalist’s Resource em is a project of the Shorenstein Center, but was not involved in judging the Goldsmith Prize.
