they said, yes, we're going to put our specifics in writing. yes, we're going to actually have a vote on it. yes, we're going to lay out our vision to the american people. here's the difference, ed, and jared knows this very well. it's very easy to take shots at people and say -- >> but nobody's taking shots here -- >> -- but it's much harder -- >> i'm going to finish this now. gentleman, great to have you with us. but i'm going to say one thing. this is what speaker boehner should have done. he should have said, you know what, in the big world of business, sometimes deals are done on napkins before we get down to the devil in the detail. i want to show the american people what president obama just handed me. $4.7 trillion. ron, he should have taken that napkin after cocktail hour and gone out and said, look what i got from the president! holy smokes! >> if we'd had that napkin and if we'd had that deal in writing, john boehner would have been a lot happier with it -- >> we've got divided government
