sir. major general, as we talk about the changes at the highest level in terms of the government and this national security team, is this good for the afghanistan war? >> well, what you're really talking about is the challenges that you see in afghanistan, specifically at that point, run from tactical as we just talked up to the strategic and policy level. now what you have with the changes of director panetta, soon to be director, and general petraeus, soon to be director petraeus, general john allen taking over in afghanistan, ambassador crocker coming back into the fight, is you have really seasoned professionals whose activities currently keep them in the game. so this is a team that has worked together well, know each other extremely well, and they're very, very topical and very deep. so it's a good thing. so what looks like a very disruptive change of key personnel is, in fact, i think, the normal continuity that you
