Judas Priest has just rolled out the rescheduled dates for its "50 Heavy Metal Years Tour." The trek, which now includes an additional 17 cities added to the itinerary, will feature Sabaton serving as the openers on most of the dates. Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 11th at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.com. Priest is set to hit the road on September 8th at Reading, Pennsylvania's Santander Arena, with the tour winding down on November 5th at Hamilton, Ontario's First Ontario Centre. Frontman Rob Halford said in a statement announcing the new dates: "Defending the heavy metal faith for fifty years, the PRIEST is back!" Guitarist Glenn Tipton added: "Time to don the leather and studs and roll out the PRIEST machine -- celebrating our 50 Heavy Metal Years!!" Bassist Ian Hill said: "After the horrific year of restrictions we've all had to endure, what better place to break free than the land of the free -- the U.S.A.!" Rob Halford told us before launching the Priest's last run of shows, that the band pools ideas for each tour's setlists: "We just sat down and said, 'What do you want to do?' 'I want to do this.' 'What do you want to do?' 'I want to do this.' And the list grew and grew and grew and grew. There will be some moments, hopefully, where we're gonna play songs that have never been performed in public before. We just want to go through some of the highlights of the band's career."
