Senators Mark Warner and John Cornyn plan to introduce a bill to upgrade India-US defence ties. The bill aims to make India a part of the NATO Plus arrangement, which would allow the US to transfer defence equipment to India with as little bureaucratic interference as possible, amidst rising challenges from China. NATO Plus presently five countries, India joining this arrangement strengthens the defence ties between both nations, helping them to grapple with the challenges of an increasingly aggressive China.
