NORRISTOWN â Montgomery Countyâs top law enforcement officer reacted to the Pennsylvania Supreme Courtâs decision overturning entertainer Bill Cosbyâs sexual assault conviction saying he hopes it âwill not dampen the reporting of sexual assaults by victims.â
The majority decision handed down by the state court justices on Wednesday, ordered the release of Cosby, 83, who has served more than two years of a three-to-10-year sentence, from the State Correctional Institution-Phoenix in Skippack Township.
Wednesdayâs ruling prohibits Cosby from being retried on the charges.
