Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has welcomed the announcement of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) as the "largest cooperation project in our history" that will transform the Middle East and the world. The IMEC, seen as an alternative to China's Belt and Road Initiative, was jointly announced by the US, India, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, France, Germany, Italy, and the EU.
