New Zealand Won’t Criticize China Over WHO Virus Inquiry New Zealand announced that it would hold off on criticising the World Health Organization’s (WHO) COVID-19 investigation in China despite thirteen nations, including New Zealand’s Five Eyes partners of Australia, the UK, the US and Canada, pointing out the lack of “access, transparency, and timeliness” of the WHO’s investigation report in a joint statement released in March. The countries were concerned that the research into the virus origins, which was confirmed by a member of the investigation team to have been interfered with by the Chinese Communist government, “was significantly delayed and lacked access to complete, original data and samples”.
