1/1 A FRENCH football club is asking to be involved into the inquest for the death of footballer Emiliano Sala. It comes after the family of Mr Sala launched legal action over his death in an air crash two years ago - north of Guernsey on January 21, 2019. Mr Sala’s body was brought to Portland Port 18 days later on February 7 - with detectives from Dorset Police carrying out enquiries into his death. French football side FC Nantes wants involvement in his inquest so it can defend itself against accusations it expects to face from current Championship outfit Cardiff City. The Ligue 1 side have urged senior coroner for Dorset Rachael Griffin to grant the club 'interested persons status' for next year's full hearing so it will be able to contest accounts 'it doesn't agree with' by Cardiff.
