This development comes days after a controversy erupted over Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's reference to the 'Singapore variant' of the infection. In a letter to social media platforms, the IT Ministry has cited the terminology fixed by the WHO to name variants of Covid-19. A senior official in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeiTY) said, "It is an advisory not an order."
