Photo: Amy Osborne, Special to The Chronicle In order to check out the latest show from Z Space, audience members had two options: delivery or pickup. Those who chose pickup for “The Institute for Counterfeit Memory: A Play in a Box,” which Z Space imported from Baltimore theater company the Acme Corporation, had to show up at Z Space at an appointed window of time and have a small box wrapped in brown paper placed in their hands. A gentle shake would elicit a metallic jangle, as might a game box with marbles and jacks inside.
