Paul was one of the most versatile racers of his generation, winning in both sports cars and Indy cars. He even started two NASCAR Cup Series races. Paul was a two-time winner at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and won a 500-mile Indy car race at Michigan in 1983. John Paul Jr., a two-time Rolex 24 at Daytona winner and winner of the 1983 CART race at Michigan International Speedway, died Tuesday at the age of 60.
