Taiwan approves the First Autonomous Neurosurgical Navigatio

HSINCHU, Aug. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- NaoTrac, the CE-certified neurosurgical navigation robot, achieved approval from the local government of the Ministry of Health and Welfare in Taiwan in July 2022 and is planned for submission to the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) for clearance by the end of 2022. The NaoTrac human trials were performed at the reputable Hualien Tzu-Chi Medical Center, with the External Ventricular Drain (EVD) placement abstract results published in the well-known European journal Acta Neurochirurgica. The mean target deviation was 1.68mm, and the mean angular deviation was 1.99 degrees, all within the accepted tolerance for minimal tissue damage."
