we've been getting the thoughts of one everton fan. ped mcpartland's been telling us what the supporters think of the decision to get rid of rafa — and who they'd like to replace him. the appointment in the first place was obviously against the wishes of a lot of fans. that straightaway caused problems, because that was an issue between the fans and the people who make the appointments at the club. and i think that's continued, i think rafa benitez has been caught in between it. but, of course, his results haven't been good enough for everton. the fans never really wanted him — the ones who are prepared to get behind him lost that very, very quickly. but in my heart, i would love to see someone who is and evertonian come back and be the manager of everton. because they are the only people who seem to win trophies and understand what the fans want.
