strength lies in knowing who you are and where you come from, and that's what we're focusing on differently. indian reservations are a difficult place for our children to grow up, based on what's happened to us. some of them grow up thinking it's indian to be drunk, it's indian to be on drugs, it's indian to be poor, it's indian to be violent. they don't know their history, they don't know the beauty and the strength of where we came from. they don't know what our ancestors did a long time ago, their ways, their culture, that kept us as a people together, that makes us strong, resilient. drums and chanting.
