trump. donald trump will remind everybody every day that they don't really like him, most of us. we have to say what we're going to do that's positive, and if we don't do that we're not going to win. >> it's an interesting idea that sort of the trump leg of this will -- urie essentialyou're es saying it will take care of itself. those he outrages he'll continue to outrage. the democrats don't need to waste time on that. that's a given. >> we have to stand for something positive. i don't think we're going to get elected by saying i'm not trump. >> right. kirsten, the last one-term president was george h.w. bush. he struggled with his messaging about relatively mild recession that happened the year before he ran for reelection. do you think the candidates should be looking to that election for guidance? >> well, i think -- so, the big problem that he ran into was he was -- he was basically telling people, it's not as bad as you think that it is. and so that really alienated people because people know what's going on with the economy
