computer glitches. right now at least two of the three operations say this was not the work of hackers. the new york stock exchange calling it a technical issue. united airlines blaming it on a faulty rueter and we still don't know the cause of the "wall street journal's" computer problems but the confluence of tech failures in one day within hours of each other, a strange coincidence, to say the least. from california to chicago, a backlog of passengers stuck on long airport lines while all of united airlines' flights were grounded. >> how long is that wait? >> well they have a systemwide ground stop due to a computer outage. >> reporter: a systemwide computer failure shut down operations for the major u.s. carrier for hours. in all, more than 800 united flights around the world grounded as agents were forced to issue hand-written tickets. >> the problem is when it happens at a giant align like
